How does the Ansoff Matrix help the company or startup to succeed?

The Ansoff Matrix is used for external environment analysis, to design a strategic plan and market actions based on the identification of opportunities for growth for an organization.

Know the Ansoff Matrix 4 quadrants definition:

Market Penetration:
Strategies in this sense are adopted when to increase current market share, operating with the same services or products.
Offers through promotions are an example of this.

Market Development:
It occurs when an organization wants to obtain market growth offering its existing products and services to a market segment not yet part of their portfolio. Opening a store in a new location may be an example of reaching a new audience.

Product Development:
Strategies adopted to develop products based on the market segment in which it currently operates. The increase in the product mix for this same segment is an example of this.

Diversification:
Sometimes staying happens only when the organization has the goal of developing new services and products for segments in which it does not yep operate.

After World War II, it became clear that an organization’s success relied on its capacity to meet market demands. In this context, the Ansoff Matrix was developed by Russian professor and consultant Igor Ansoff, so that companies were focused their attention on the external environment and its influencing factors.
